The Eco Group meets once a month to work in the churchyard of St Laurence. It is comprised of members of the community as well as church members. Each month some more clearance of brambles and general tidying up is made. The churchyard is looking much better on the south side of the church.

In reaching out into the community St Laurence Church has been working with the local History Society. The Hawkhurst History Society has permission to use the North Parvis to archive a wealth of information about the village. They have funded several improvements to the parvis and we are grateful to them for this as well
